I use a NIKON Archers Choice & a Bushnell (golf) range finder for longer distances. The NIKON only goes out to about 165, so bow or muzzleloader. The Bushnell I use for rifle...

I use the cheap Bushnell 450 Sport...does the trick for me. Of course, I don't hunt spots with distances much over 200 yards so it is fine. I have gotten it to range trees out to 376...for bowhunting, I personally wouldn't spend more.

If you need distance reading look at the Nikon Rifle Hunter 550, if I remember correctly it goes from 11 to 550 yards and has the angle compensating built in.

I had looked at few different rangefinders and narrowed it down to the Archer's Choice and Riflehunter 550 from Nikon. Since I am also a gun hunter I ended up going with the Riflehunter 550. It cost a little extra but was worth the extra distance it gained me. As far as specs go, the Archer's Choice specifies it ranges from 5-100 whereas the Riflehunter ranges from 11-550 yards. I don't have a need to range a deer at 5 yards. Both are good accurate rangefinders that will get the job done. Just depends on what your needs are.

Well the part of Va that I live in doesn't allow us to rifle hunt during deer season. I do use one for ground hogs and fox, but thats about it. The range finder would be used mostly for Bow Hunting.... I don't need to most expensive one I'm sure, but quality is what I'm looking for...Thanks for all the help
