I have the Moultrie I-40 as well and really like it. On sale at BP for 120 I think it was

The cuddes have came way down In price from what they once were. I believe their In that $200.00 range for a Cuddeback Capture flash camera but you no longer get the video feature. Stay away from there Capture IR camera, terrible night picture's.

Reconyx makes a damn good camera and Its what I have (RC60) but your going to pay an arm and a leg for them. I've heard good things about the Coverts as well, Tembry could give you some good Info on them. Some day I'd like to build myself a homebrew as well, something that's IR without all the lights like the Reconyx are now.

Scoutgaurd 550 ....best camera i have owned...i can get up to 3000 pics on a single set of batteries. pretty fast trigger time and very reliable.. not to mention the small size and 5 megapixel pictures. bee busy outdoors has them for $199 and free shipping.

Yeah I hate to say it I was leaning twords the cuddeback, but alot of people have been happy with the Moultrie.

I've heard alot of good things about the homebrew ones. And I thought they usaully have about $100 into them. I might give this a try.

What's a good site to buy the parts though?

I've got a friend who uses only home brew cameras. He gets one third of the pics as I do with my Cuddeback capture.

Really? I thought that these were pretty good at battery life? I hate to see it, but I really think I may swing twords the cuddeback.
