Default So Cal hunting

I am new to archery and hunting in southern California and i was curious if anyone has any tips or maybe some insight on where to hunt. i know that no ones gonna give up that one spot but maybe just a general area. i am going to get a tag for camp pendleton for archery only but i woud like to expand my area of possiblities. right now i got drawn for a D6 tag in Northern Cali but an 8 hr drive is only gonna happen a few times this year. any little tips of advice will be appreciated. thanks for time.

Pickings are pretty slim down here, but at least you can try. I pay to hunt wild hogs at Tejon Ranch (70 miles north of LA)and have done pretty well.
