It's really a matter of how much time you have to practice.The recurve will require more time and effort even if you shoot a compound without sights.If you shoot a recurve with sight's don't EVER talk to me again!

recurves are fun but make sure you are willing to put in the time and practice to get really good with it. I tried it this year. They are a hoot to shoot but I was not consistent enough with it for my taste. I personally wouldnt have felt good about hunting with it and I knew I wouldnt have the time or patience to get as good as I would have to be to hunt with it.
