Most of the time I have used only 1 pin at ~25....90% of my shots have been at 25 and under over the years. And if it is farther, I know where to hold.

When I have used 2 pinsits been 25 & 40

I just bought an HHA slider...so I'll be back to 1 @ 25 with the option of lots of other distances

I agree, let the bow setup dictate where you need to be. If its faster, 23-25 works pretty well for a first pin...a little slower, go 20 on the first pin and work it from there depending on the range you have/want.

I got a G5 Optix ME sight , so i set the 3 fixed pins at 20 , 30 , 40 and the floating pin for 50 - 70 ( anything over 40 is for 3D or targeting )

Unless you have a ridiculously SLOW bow, those 15 and 25 pins would be STACKED on top of each other. If you have a bow shooting at least 240fps, you're just as well off with a 20yd pin, then you can move that second pin out a bit to 28-30yds and get better use of that sight.

Bailsuk how do you like the Optix ME? I have been looking at this site, but have not seen much talk about it.

I go 20, 30, and 40. I do have two extra pins for 50 and 60 put that is only for fun. This past weekend when shooting with my buddies we took the Glendell buck out to 70 and I was some what surprised at my heeving of an arrow from such a distance. We started at 20 moved out in 10 yard distances and then brought it back to 20 and the difference was considerably noticable.I recommend shooting long distances and then moving it back in close because it does help.

Best way to extend your effective range, couldn't agree more! I shoot out to 80 on the range. It makes 40 yds. seem like a chip shot. It really is amazing at what a few months of long range shooting will do to your groups inside 40 yds.
