Default Fletching question

This is such a stupid question, I really hesitate to ask it. However, I was reading an article published by Easton which showed the single odd colored fletch pointing upward whereas I have been taught it is supposed to point down. I think i am doing it right but honestly, after reading this article, I am questioning myself.

Does it matter?

Hey Tealboy,

Never be afraid to ask a question! It doesn' t matter which color points where. Some folks use the odd color as a reference not to put the arrow vanes upside down. I usually have all the same color. But what matters is that the vanes are positioned to clear your rest. If you are using a rest with two prongs ( U ) like this, then you want to position the vane pointing down. If you use a rest that is a launcher style or known as a " lizard tongue" , then the cock vane should point straight up (usually).

it all depends on what style launcher you have as to which direction the cock feather will point.
