RE: The Wensel brothers
This thread got me thinking back to my old Bowhunting Oct. Whitetails I & II videos, and I do mean videos. I bought them both back when DVD's were'nt even a thought yet. I thought that it would be great to have them on DVD, so at 2 in the morning I got on Ebay and found the DVD of both 1 and 2 together on DVD. So naturally, I couldn't resist myself and it is on it's way to me and should be here this week. Only$11 shipped. Can't beat that.

RE: The Wensel brothers
Hate to crash the gush party, but I'm not a huge fan of the Wensel's. I guess they are alright as far as the celebrity types go.
I bought Primal Dreams and thought it was ok. I think I only own two or three videos because I can't stand the advertising most people push in them and I also don't care for the kill, kill, kill "snuf flicks". Thus, Primal Dreams was enjoyable.
I didn't care for the way they harvested "Woody", sending a "shed hunter" into his bedding area to flush him by them. It sounded like the shed hunter did ont have a valid deer license and by Iowa law, every member participating in a deer hunt must be licensed. Now if the "shed hunter" had a valid deer license, then it would make it more of a legit drive, IMO.
Then, I bought "Come November" by Gene Wensel. After reading it, I didn't feel I had really learned much about bow hunting deer. The chapter on leasing kind of grated on me, as I'm not a big fan of the idea. At least Gene states that some won't care for his opinion and that is just what it is, his opinion, fair enough.
I read an ad for an upcoming Sportsmans Banquet in the area. I was kind of excited about it until I read that one of the Wensel's was the speaker. Maybe I should go and listen to him and see if he comes off better in person. I'm obviously not enamored with them now.
Maybe I'll take Come November and get an autograph.[&:]
