Got my 2nd bowkill yesterday evening. The temperature all day was 7 degrees, windchill in the negative teens, but I had agood feeling.Hit her a little farback so I snuck out andgave her overnight. Temps were in the single digits and teens overnight...My brother and I tracked and found her this morning...She was frozen
This is the 1st deer Ive taken from the ground, 2nd deer for my first year bowhunting. Im pretty excited right now.. Big thanks to Grizzly for suggesting I scout for a late season food source in the woods, such as berries, saplings,etc..
I found a strip of berry bushes with sign around them, andmade amakeshift blindwith the wind in my favor.I watched the deer eatberries for an hour, working its way towards me... This year I've hunted harder and for more days than I ever have my entire life, and its all because Ive become addicted to being in the woods with a bow in hand.
Hunting from the ground with a bowis a rush! Thanks everyone forsharing yourknowledge, and helpingme get started bowhunting.

bowmanaj,
Great work, way to stick it out. As a fellow Hoosier, I can testify with you about how cold it's been lately. Congrats on beating the deer and the elements. I hope this is just the beginning of many bow-kills for you.
Blessings.....Pastorjim
