Default Sheds!

This might be a tough question to answer, but do any of you know how long it takes rodents to chew away a shed?

depends. there are a lot of variables. sometimes not long and others a long while. A buddy of mine found a skull and antlers 10 feet from a swamp stand i set up that had to be a year or more there . never saw it when i hunted it but he stumbled across it getting down from it one day . it was a little chewed but not bad. it also had green algae on it so it had been there awhile

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe porcupines will also eat sheds, I suppose the size of the critter working on the shed will have something to do with how fast that particular shed disappears.

I have found sheds with blood still on them with significant chew marks on them, and I have found sheds that are green with age, with no marks on them whatsoever.

It all depends on what sort of wildlife is in the area and how lucky they are in finding these calcium treasures.
