To those of you hunting throughout January
A recent thread by a fellow member left me wanting to learn more..
What do you know about the 2nd rut? I've never been able to hunt this late in the year (this is my 1st season with a bow), so I have no experience with it.
From what I understand, it can either provide some good action, or it can be weak.. depending on doe numbers and how many haven't been bred yet/came in late..I was lucky enough to take a doe early in October, and had some awesome pre-rut/rut encounters, but its been tough lately, and I want more meat in the freezer to last the whole year. I should also note I haven't stepped foot on my property since Nov. 30, so its had a couple weeks to cool down, (and I did not gun hunt it at all)..
Anything yall can tell me would be great, I just wanna learn and see some cool pics.. Your experiences, stories, strategies, late seasonharvest/scenery picsin the snow,(or not in the snow for you southerners)... Thanks everyone..
