Blood trails with slicks have always been nothing less than stellar when I put them where they need to be.

The fact that they are tough, affordable, accurate and sharp... well... thats why I shoot them after all.

I've used a half dozen BHs. None impressed me like the STs. I was aiming for heart on my quartering away buck this year and hit high. All I got was one lung. However, I got a 500 yard blood trail along with it. The other 4 deer dropped within sound or sight topped with blood splatter everywhere.

I don't think you are switching BHs just cus your friends is giving you some imho bad advice but if you do, you'd be doing yourself a disservice.

I will stick with my muzzys they have worked for me for almost 20 yearsand I dont see any need to change. I understand there are many good bh out there, but making a good shot is by far the most important thing a hunter can do. If you put the arrow behind the shouldera little low anda quality bh will do the job.

Relating blood trails to broadheads is like saying tires suck because you hit black ice and crashed your car.
I like this analogy. I might have to borrow it.

My G5 Striker Magnums leave holes in deer like they were shot with a 20ga. at short range...and one of those didnt even bleed alot.....sometimes the skin covers the hole and theres no trail.

.....gotta love the 1 1/2" cutting dia. on the fixed blade!!
