I just got back from a two day hunt on my land in C'field. Considering the wind I seen a good bit of deer. Mostly does and a small buck and a few that I couldn't make out as they walked through the brush.
I did get number three this morning though. At about 8:00am I had a button buck come in and start eating acorns under the big white oak I was set-up beside. I was in the same tree that I shot my buck last week. I watched him feed and munch on acorns until he finally wondered off. Then at about 8:30am I see this doe coming in. Whenever she got her head behind a tree I stood up and got my bow in my hand. Once she stepped behind the big white oak I drew. Whenever she got around the oak I put the pin on her, but her vitals were covered by a small tree so I followed her until she got into an opening. She stopped perfectly in the opening and I put the pin behind her shoulder and at about 15yds let the arrow fly. She took off up the hill in the direction she came from, but I already knew she was done. I could see a puddle of blood about five feet from where she was standing when I shot her. She went just out of sight and crashed. About 50yds. The shot was perfect left and right, but a little high. She weighed 100lbs. She is a littler smaller than most does that I shoot (in the 125+ range). She also had a very short body. When I looked in her mouth she didn't have a single top tooth. She didn't look old so she must have been born without them. Its the 2nd deer I've killed off of this land like that. Makes #3 with the bow this year.
Again I have posted some pictures of the hole that the broad head cut.
