I appreciate it guys....Greg, Im not sure when the second rut will occur here, but if it does happen I think it may be in mid Dec... but for the next week I will hunt food sources and close to bedding areas as I feel the bigger bucks are moving later and later everyday...

What we need to concentrate on is a 3 million candle power spotlight and a 7mm-08.

I think Ms. Sloan has a nice vantage point along her driveway.

When you called me today and told me about those deer coming out... Tom was standing next to me and he started laughing... and I said... yeah... it's kinda been like that this year! Least I'm getting to hunt!

Landon, I like to hunt pinch points in thick cover. In my area Bucks will do quite a bit of trolling for Does.

Second rut can also be good. Especially when you find a Hot spot. It's hard to predict when and where this will happen, so just stay after them.

It hasworked for me in Dec in the past.

Well I got some info....my two younger brothers hunted this morning and they saw 5 bucks. One really nice buck that was missed earlier in the year. Anyway, one my brothers watched them come in and go into a gulley and disappear..he did not have a shot on the good one.. so he called me this afternoon and asked what he should do, well i told him to go and sit the powerline stand near the gulley and be patient, they have to come back this way....well at 4 pm he had a nice 17" wide 7 pt on the ground!! He said the deer came in and followed his scent trail 4 yds to the tree!! they moving but not a lot in the evenings. i will hit it up again if the hounds don't screw it up this weekend....it's a real biotch trying to bow hunt during dog shotgun season!! It's only unique to certain southern states, and it cuts our chances to at least 50%...[][&o]
