good luck in this weather....if it's as nasty there as it is here, hope you put one through the boiler room and seal the deal within site. Any break in the weather should have them on their feet
......the deer won in this woodlot....THIS year. I'm outta there.
I've still got 150+ acres of new land to hunt hard the rest of the year....plus my lands I already had (that have been good to me).
I accept defeat!
(there)I'll scout the heck out of it and get back on them next year. I noticed a buck trail, today, I didn't know existed. Prior to leaf drop....you'd NEVER find it. I saw a huge rub in there, today. It runs parallel to the pond in the thick pines. I'll have a tree ready for that trail before next season opener.
I had fun.....
Thanks for all the well-wishes. Wish I'd made it happen. Forecast is for POURING rain, later. If it slacks off....I'm minutes from there....and I'll get back in there.

Nope, Aaron. I won't hunt that as long as I have all this land, here. I don't see the reason to drive 45 minutes to hunt....when I have GREAT grounds, right here. If I thought it was "better", there....I'd do it. I don't think it is.

Boss man hunted this AM...said he was getting ready to leave at 10:30 this am and saw a good one going back to bed. We got a break in the weather here after daylight (Lincoln Co.)and he said they moved a little. I think he's going back in with the smokepole in the AM for him. Said he was bigger than his deer lastyear (18" 10pt). Good luck.

Saw a doe and a fawn, this morning (nothing else).....and this afternoon I went to a spot where I thought it was gonna be a buck or nothing. Nothing...lol.
I had these other two guys on my mind when I went ot my afternoon spot. Tomoroow's their ML opener....and I wanted to stay out of the best spots I thought (we've talked about where they'll be hunting) they'd use.
