Default Ethical ?

I am hunting on Public Hunting in Kansas and found a perminent tree stand in the woods. The Kansas requlation states that you can only use have a stand in the tree that can be removed, nothing nailed to the tree. What should I do? I know I can notify athorities, but do I want them disturbing the area since I am hunting in the area. Or, I could destroy it. What should I do??

I wouldn't call the authorities. I would maybe leave a note in a ziplock bag nailed to the treestand stating, "you know permanent treestands are not legal, only take down stands. Please remove the stand the week after hunting season. Take care and good luck."

How about, "Please remove the stand the week after hunting season, or I will. Take care and good luck".

Early In adn VAShadow~~ While that is a good idea, I dont know about you but if it was me and I thought that maybe the DNR left me that note, I believe I would do two things.....

Leave and forget about that treestand and never look back or tear it down as quickly as possible whether in season or not????

Ignore it and hunt.
If you do tear it down your basically taking the law into your hands.

Especially if the person that walks up on you is the one who put it up.
Then what?

I would be more worried about a warden walking up... then some fast talking is in order !! No this isn't my stand. I am sure the warden hasn't heard that one before. It would be easier for you just to ask if you need to bend over before or afteryou getticket cause you are...

Leave it alone or call are the only two choices.
