Home made scent dispenser
I just broke out my new bottle of James Valley Lethal Weapon last week and as I was getting the pack of scent wicks out, a light switch came on.
I used to just smother the scent on wick, put it in a zip lock and head to the woods. Trouble is, no matter how hard I tried, I never could keep from getting my hands all stinky when putting them out.
I came up with a nifty idea (well, for me it is anyway)that worked perfectly.
I took an empty film canaster and removed the lid. Took a knife and put two very small slits about 1" apart in the lid. I then took a black plastic zip tie and ran it through the slits and connected it together a few clicks. This forms a big loop on the topside of the lid. From there, I took a garbage back twistie tie and attached a scent wick to the zip tie on the inside of the lid.
Now, all you have to do is dip the wick in the scent, slide it into the film canster and snap the lid on it. When it comes time to hang it on the tree, just grab the big loop in the zip tie, pull it from the canaster and hang. No mess!
And, after you're done with the wicks for the year, just remove it and the twistie tie and you still have the containers for next season.
