Default How many of you have done stand work for next fall?

Just wondering how many others here have been
out this winter/spring working on treestand
setups for next fall? With the job I have and
being single, I' m able to spend a lot of time
prepping stands for the upcomimg year. My dad,
who' s retired helps out. Every year we prep from
20-25 trees, cutting shooting lanes, nails for
backpacks & bows, and clearing out deer
runs with our pruners. We started using aerial
photos a few years ago....I can' t begin to
describe how much they' ve helped. My friends
think I have a " problem" and my co-workers
think I' m just plain crazy! To me, this is
bowhunting
....anyone else feel the same?

I don' t have any portable stands hung yet but I do have a couple new trees picked out for next fall. I' ve been pruning some of the limbs and trees now, before the foliage starts to get too thick. I would say you not the only crazy one, I bet a good majority of the Bowhunters are doing the same.

I am out there almost every weekend scouting, shed hunting, setting up as many stands as I can. The MOST important part of my bowhunting is winter/spring scouting and stand set ups. Hunting season is the easy part

Always looking and adding or making better. Just put up a tripod in a thicket Tuesday. Moving another stand and putting in a new one this weekend. I guess were all obsessed with whitetails! Not a bad thing either!!

I' d like to find next years buck before I put up stands. No reason to put up a stand in a sucky area.

I know where a couple bucks are but I already have stands up there.

Right now, I am getting ready to " talk some turkey"

Been out triming and put out about 50 lbs of rock salt/buck magnet in one location and after 4/15 intend to go to the club (3 hour drive). I' m going to try to work on about three different stands. Cutting and trimming, planting, rock salt.

Probably have to salt and mineral about one more time B-4 hunting season.

I know the farmers around here and they all already told me what the crop plan is for next season and about 1/2 mile behind me house is where I will be most of the season Its all gonna be corn and where I was this past season is gonna be bean. It sucks on that property when its beans, they all go to where Im gonna be. There is a break in the fence and there is a tree that I can squeese into so I gotta go get my stand and move it. Guess what Ill be doin this weekend

p.s. Im also practicing talkin turkey[8D]
