Question for you neoprene boot wearers....
I'm looking at several cold weather boots, and one of them is neoprene. Couple of questions...
1. How warm are they? Would I be ok with 3.5mm or should I get 5mm?
2. Do they get all "stinky" inside?
3. Are they waterproof?

RE: Question for you neoprene boot wearers....
Mo:
I bought a pair of Muck's last year....after buying 2 pair of LaCrosse's. I bought LaCrosse uninsulated and a pair of 1200gram.
The mucks "breathe"....and they're warmer than the 1200grams. They have neoprene uppers and rubber lowers.....and though I don't have too many issues with my feet sweating in regular shoes....I notice they don't sweat NEARLY as much as they do in the LaCrosse's. I have no issues with "stink" in my Mucks.

RE: Question for you neoprene boot wearers....
1. I have Mucks that have Neoprene uppers and rubber bottoms and they are not good in cold weather. My feet get cold very quickly in them. In fact I just bought a winter pair of rubber boots with 1000 grams of Thinsulate because my feet were getting cold.
2. After sweating in them I put baking soda in them and spray them out. This is my 3rd year using them and they aren't "stinky" as far as I can tell.
3. Yes they are waterproof, but neoprene tears easier on thorns than rubber, but it won't crack like rubber.
All in all I like the boots, but I definitely need something warmer for cold weather hunting.
