And o yea Steve, I almost forgot. It was an 8 with what looked to be at least 130"s of horn(antler) on top of his head. Something that would help our teams cause.

As far as decoys, I haven't had hardly any expierence with them. My brother has used them some (doe decoys) and he's had on 2 different occasions 130" bucks trailing a doe and when the doe seen the decoy she came unglued and off In the opposite direction she went, buck followed. That was his experience, maybe yours would be different.

I had the same problem last year with a doe decoy. The other does saw her and wouldn't have it. They blew at her and stomped and then took off. The only reason why I would put the decoy up would be because I have yet to have a doe come through the bottom all the times I have hunted there. And how do you guys think the deer will react when he heres the estrous bleat again?

If he hears It and he's not trailing a doe I bet he checks Into It. It sounds like he's pretty rutted up, that's a plus and a big advantage on your side.

I love these encouraging words I am getting. That is why I love this site. What do you think the chances are of him being in the same area? Would he be cruising for does tonight and all day tomorrow? I know it is tough to know. Maybe I can show you an aerial view of the property so you guys can get a better idea.

During the rut you just never know. My guess Is he should stay some what close being the big chase Isn't quite there yet.

I would hunt the same stand again and stay away from the grunt if it ran him off before. Use the can if ya like but if he's coming toward you don't call anymore, especailly after what happened he may be on the lookout. But he'll be back by the sound of it, something fell and landed next to him, that's all he knows if he didn't bust you...
