I've missed your great posts. I sincerely hope you get better fast. You know, they say a mature buck in the rut has an unbelievable ability to heal from nearly fatal wounds thanks tohis amped upimmune system and the chemical cocktail of hormones the good lord programmed into them, when He created them.I have a sneaking suspicion that if He was willing to bless an animal with those capabilities, He probably made it possible for people too. I'll be adding your name to my prayer list John.
In the meantime, while you recover, don't be a stranger here! I know when I'm unable to hunt for an extended period of time, this place can be a lifesaver!

Dude, I feel your pain. This is what my lower back looks like now. I sure hope they can get you fixed up. My pain is not gone but I can function. Some days are still ugly but I'm still able to do things. The weather really plays havoc. When fronts come through is the worst. And if I get cold enough to shiver then it get pretty painful, but nothing at all like you are going through now. I hope every thing works out for you.
