I'd also like to know how it netted within 4" of it's gross score with all those extra brow points, splits etc?

Matt, I agree that it doesn't seem possible, but it's officially scored on the site and that's what they were telling all of us that were standing around admiring the buck that evening that it was taken. I wasn't there when they scored it, but these guys are really knowledgable.

First off, congrats to the hunter and big kudos for taking that beast with traditional equipment.

As for the score, I know when I look at some of the 190-200" deer mounts at Cabelas I think to myself that they don't seem to be that big, but they are. Also, we don't know what scoring method they were using. Certain scoring methods such as SCI don't take away as many deductions as B&C and P&Y. So, it's entirely possible they those scores are accurate, just on a different system.

Whatever he scores, he is a giant and will make one heck of a story for that lucky hunter to tell for the rest of his days.

He was scored on using the P&Y method. Here's another pic of the buck that was taken by I believe the biologist a couple of years ago. They say it's the same deer.

I would have let him walk!

Because I'd have been shaking to hard to pull my bow back!! LOL

Seriously Congrats to the hunter and he did it without the fastest bow on the planet...
