Default Commander for General? Trade

I posted this on in the gear review section too but here it is...

Ive got a guy on AT that i have talked with and we got to talking about a trade. He is going to give me his 07 bowtech commander, and a camosupreme 9" sure-loc slider with a 4x viper scope and .019 up pin. the scope and slider are worth almost 400 alone.

He wants my 08 max4 General with my whisker biskit (i just purchased a trophy taker) and 120$ cash for this trade. Is this a good deal? I was going to buy a new 09 captain and sell my general but i think the commander and the sure-loc setup will be better overall. im wanting to use the bow with my hunting setup, and set it up for open 3d when archery season is out.

I think this sounds like a good idea and i know no one on here can tell me whats good foro me or not, but i just figured i would ask you guys to make sure im not missing something.
Btw, he seems like a reasonable guy so i suspect what he says is credible.
Thanks guys,
Derek

It souunds like a pretty even trade to me, but I would notget rid of a General! Just sell the General outright and get the Captain and you'll be better off. I don't think you would be happy with the 07 commander over the 08 General or the 09 Captain.

I really like that Captain. I have held it in my hands and it is sweet. It's probably the only bow I would consider getting rid ofmy General for.

I know i would like the bow better overall, but the sight that hes trading is AWESOME! i was thinking if i trade him im basically get the sight for a great deal, then trade in/ sell the commander for an 09 captain or sentinal. if i sell the general, i could get around 550$ max. the new bt's here are 750$ (50$ more than last year). that is 200+tax i would have to shell out for the bare bow. then if i were to get the same sight, about 400$ more. of course i wouldnt get a brand new sight but you guys get the idea.
the way i see it, i get the commander with the sure-loc setup, shoot it see how well i like it. then when/if i wanna get an 09 ill trade it/sell it again for 500ish$ and then im only 250-300 in the hole.
I love the general/admiral and captain. i ahve shot the captain and admiral extensively yesterday and they feel just like the general but lighter. i just think in the long run, this seems likea better deal. maybe not, im torn between both ideas.

I would trade the General for the Captain as well. The commander is alot more bow than either of those two, purely in terms of weight and ATA length. For me, hard to justify buying a whole setup just to get a sight. Selling the Commander wouldn't be real easy I don't think either. Kind of a small niche for those rigs. I'm keeping mine, even if I do get a new one.

Yeah i do see what you guys are saying now. I think i might stick with my original plan and get the captain, and maybe ill see if he will sell the sight to me for a decent price. decisions decisions...[:@]

If it matters I would not trade. I'd trade for an 09 model but not down in years even with the sight. Unless you really just wanted that bow..

But then again I'd buy a Mathews so what do I know..
