If I had to give up one or the other, forever, I'd sadly let go of the bow. Here's why - I know I'll always be able to pull the trigger on my trusty 30-30 or Mauser - I may not always be able to pull back my bow at a legal hunting weight. So to me, the choice is simple. That combined with the fact that my father isn't getting any younger, I know I'll be able to gun hunt with him longer than he'll be able to continue to shoot his bow, and I can't/don't want to picture a hunting season without him physically in the woods with me.

3 1/2 months bowhunting or 9 days with rifle????? Definately give up the gun.
Simple math huh Mottz, I agree, but that is only part of the equation for me. I very much enjoy those 9 days or 12 in PA's case, but it's not for the kill or the hunt really. Bowhunting/archeryis in me, I don't know if I could deal without it as a part of my life. A few years ago, you would have been talking to a different guy, I havebeen bow hunting since legal age, but I have only been a bowhunter for a few years if you catch mymeaning. I love it.

I would give up gun hunting. That would be easy since I gave it up 15 years ago.

Without a doubt the gun.... but go ask this question over in the deer hunting forum and see what kinda replies you get there if you havent already???
I did put thbis Poll on the Deer Hunting Form as well. It will be interesting to see if there is much of a difference.
