awesome Jeff....
i love that last sentence...."You don't always have to kill something to have a GREAT hunt. "
i had a hunt like that Saturday evening...first time i ever passed a legal buck i could easily killed. and it would have been my OLDEST buck ever..(2.5yo) was a ROB BUCK...if he had both sides, he would been in trouble....if he comes back the last week or 2, i may change my mind...his chances of making it through a PA rifle season are VERY slim to none...he would be a trophy, to me. id absolutely LOVE to see him at 3.5yo next year...and am itchin to see the stud that he busted his rack on fighting with...(may not been another buck....but its my fantasy land im writtin the script and thats what i like to think! lol) i said it earlier...that hunt may very well be the highlight of my season...and could be the only legal buck i have in range(4, 1"+ points or more on a side here) and i could choke eating my tag...but, that expirience was VERY rewarding..i learned alot...and passed a legal buck...(for now...not gunna lie, he may get killed by me later)
im sure theres guys out there that think were goof balls lol...little things like that get us both pumped...and for very similar reasons....we can relate very well...i think because our views and our bowhunting time/expirience is about the same...though youve killed a couple DANDY bucks already, and more does than i'll likely EVER kill unless i move outta PA....im workin on the bucks...and working to become a better/more consistant buck hunter.
