Couple of HNI moments I refer to over time...
I. I remember something Greg/MO said once....(And excuse me while I paraphrase).....
"When I'm gun hunting...and see the animal I'm after.....the hunt is over. When I'm bowhunting and see the animal I'm after.....the hunt has just begun"
Now if I gun hunted I wouldn't take this the wrong way. It's a trained sharpshooter's view on two methods of hunting. The bowhunting portion is the part that I think about a LOT. When I see a deer I want to take.....I refer to this.
II. The second part is a portion in Matt/PA's "Keeping it together" sticky at the top. When you came to full draw on an animal.....your mind WILL beging to race. That part hit hime like no other portion of the really good thread did. I STILL get that complete adrenaline rush when i come to full draw.....whether I end up shooting, or not. It's "a" part of bowhunting I look forward to a LOT. Just take my advice....and learn to deal with this. What you do at this moment will very well determine whether you have a joyous outcome or maybe one not so joyous. I've been on both ends.
Free advice (and a rehashed "outlook")from a relative "newbie".
Good luck!
