I agree with the extra hat. Extra gloves, face masks, watches. Anything. I've been in a hurry and forgotten little things like that. Had a hunt last night that could have cost me(well, my buddy)if i hadnt have had an extra face mask in a pack

Bow
Arrows
Release
Flashlight
I leave the knife in the truck on purpose. That way, after I shoot one, I at least have to walk back to the truck. (and usually home for dinner) Before I begin tracking. Kind of a passive restraint for not rushing a down deer.

How about a radio to communicate with a buddy. Being a Boy Scout, I havea whistle attached to my compass in case I get turned around in the woods while tracking. Although I've never used it, I know I have it. Most of the stuff you mentioned, I also leave at camp. Too much junk to fish through while hunting. Make sure you have food and water if you plan to hunt the whole day. I bring apples.

Bow, quiver with arrows, and Knife. I shoot trad bows, so I do not carry much at all with me. Other than the bow/quiver and knife, ill carry a therma cell when its warm and a lighter, and that is about it. I live the KISS principal.
Oh yea, during the rut and prerut, ill carry a grunt and some antlers.

you always feel like you are forgetting something it seems, but this is a good question, makes you think before you leave. Im fortunate to be very close to our cabin, so anything I need, its right there. We dont gut deer in the woods, so no need for the knives out there, but this is what i generally take with me:
Safety Strap
bungee cords for stand
toilet paper (for tracking purposes )
binos
sandwiches
trailmix
water for drinking
pee bottle
hand warmers
rattle bag
pen and paper for writing my temp tag
extra slugs if Im gun hunnting.
all other things stay in my pockets on my pants or jacket for quick and easy access, such as flashlight, gloves, mask, grunt tube (around my neck)

I usually try to carry light. I take a camo fanny pack with:
Bottle of water
Estrus call
Buck Roar Grunt
Rattle Bag
Bow hanger
Pen and twisty tiefor my tag
Flash Light
Harness
My mask, gloves, and release i am already wearing.
Most importantly my climber and bow are always with me!
