Wow, I wish I knew sooner!
A quick bio. I'm 29, been hunting for 10 years. I started off with a PSE compound I bought off a friend for $100 (including arrows, quiver, bow, sights, rest). I'm sure the bow didn't fit, I had no idea what I was doing. Every hunting friend I have hunts with crossbows...a natural evolution for me would be buy a crossbow. I did, a Horton Hunter Xpress. Killed two bucks with this bow and than a couple years ago I bought a new crossbow, a Horton Nitro...took one buck with this but didn't have a rush, not before or even after. I'v been hunting this particular deer for three weeks. It just seemed like this is the way it was supposed to happen and did.
Than I found this site.
I always wanted to get back into shooting a compound. I did plenty of research, asked lots of questions, and finally went to a proshop and bought a bow. A Jennings Airmaster, Cobra sights, Bodoodle Pro Lite rest, Easton arrows (75 grain tip), fletcher peep, Stanislowski back tension release, Tornado stabilizer, I think thats it. I also bought a lesson, I was instructed to go home, pull the bow 200 times a day for a week and schedule my lesson. Yesterday I shot for the first time in almost 10 years. My first arrow, high and right 6 inches...I jumped. My second arrow, low and left 4 inches, than another right there and than another. Did some sight adjustment and than the next 12 arrows were inside a 3 inch circle at 20 yards! I havn't been this excited since I started hunting. Another week of no shooting just pulling, then another lesson next week.
Thanks for all the great advise.

RE: Wow, I wish I knew sooner!
I as well did alot of reading before i purchased my first bow last october. I bought a Buck Saber, mostly because of the price. (I wasn't sure if I would like the sport) I put a Quiktune 3000 rest, Cobra Ascent Micro sights and a Tranquilizer stabilizer on it. I have fallen in love all over again. My arm felt like it was going to fall off the first couple of weeks. I couldn't put it down. I have been shooting almost daily since Oct. It has been, and will continue to be alot of fun. I cannot wait until next hunting season.
