Ehhh...not really excited at all. Our season has been open since 9-15. Haven't even bought a tag yet. I don't know...still bowfishing, and I personally prefer late season hunting to early season. Kinda thought about hunting this evening but no cameramen available...so dismissed that pretty easily. If I had some good spots close to home I think it would be different. I will end up with 50 orso days in a stand before its all over with though.

Yeah, I guess. I just so much prefer the rut (obviously) and late season hunting. By the time the season ends, I will have logged far more hours in the stand than any human oughta have, but more important to me is that I will be going strong and not burned out come late Dec and early Jan. Another big part is the fact that bowfishing is peaking now as waters cool down, and that is awefully important to me. Maybe I am just getting old...maybe it is more like I am excited for it to be here, but my excitement is looking ahead about 3 weeks from now.

I am excited, but i agree, I haven't shot my bow as muchor had time to go on deer drives since I work second shift.....its hell to graduate from college and struggle to find a job....letme guess.....welcome to the real world!!! Still young and maygo back to school butI don't have to preach about the trials of aspiring to be a conservation officer in ILLINOIS! Economy and recent marriage(haha)has me down but I'm still excited, just not as much as prior years!

Buttonbuck---I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe by not being excited, your mind is just preparing for the long journey ahead, namely this hunting season. By not getting overly excited, maybe you will be able to really kick back and enjoy your hunts...best of luck to you.
