ORIGINAL: GMMAT

I hunt from 23', Brandon. I have a 25' haul line....and when it gets taut.......I'm "there"....lol.

I really can't get over how "deery" it looks in this woodlot. I had them come from 3 different directions.....but I was honestly hoping I'd find a good buck travel route. I know I need to move, now....lol. I'm heading up the ridge, tomorrow....if I get the right wind. I saw one head there and one come from there. "WE" (yes, WE) will need to get in there, early.

My son wants to go with me, tomorrow. I'm washing our camo, right now.
Too cool!! I know in the past your son hasn't been super interested in hunting, but he may take to it. Either way, it will be good bonding time.

Jeff, is NC's doe population really high?

Jeff, I hope you and Mitch, experience some success tomorrow. I doubt it will take much to get him REALLY interested. It seems like he's on the "edge". I know him hunting is something you want, very much.

Good luck to the both of you, let us know.

I can't speak for the entire state, Robby.....but in the area I hunt....I'd say 50/sq. mi. was a conservative estimate. It could be a little higher.

Now you can go 4-5 properties over and not see those numbers. In the area I was in tonight.....i'd say it was less than that. I primarily hunt a "traingle" of property.....that encompasses 2.23sq. mi. . In this area.....the herd is dense. Outside that (where i was, tonight).....not so high.....but still too many.

I'm hoping the people I have here hunting with me can take a few.

Buckmaster....if you read this......get your NC license. We'll have plenty of time t hunt. Call me, tomorrow.

I'll also add....that this "triangle" I refer to is not residential. Other than a few homes (farms, mostly) littered along the roadways.....the 2.23 sq. mi. has NO inhabited dwellings, within. It's old farmlands.

Jeff, does the property you took this doe on, have high hopes for a good buck?

In the pictures, it looks so much like the land, here.

Way to go...Those woods you have there around your house are just beautiful. I agree, very deery indeed.
