Default what kind of tree did i see

ok guy just down from my stand i found a tree by the creek that had a green looking pod on it. looked like a green rock hanging off the tree. The leaf looked long and rounded and was a solid shape. What could that be i am in southwest indiana.

after looking at pic of a walnut tree it might be a walnut tree do deer like walnuts

long like a mule's ear? and dont get much bigger than a grown man's forearm...it'd be a paw paw

a walnut will have compound leaves....meaning it looks like a bunch of oval shaped leaves coming off of a stem

post a pic....i love tree ID....brings me back to my dendrology days in college

not it guys the pod was more like the size of a small lemon and was smooth and green and the leafs where about6to8 inch lond
