UA Capture
So, let me start off by saying that I'm one of those morons who wants everything Under Armour makes. I've got the hot gear, the cold gear, more cold gear, cold gear with armourblock, the gloves, the hats, etc... Pretty gay, I know.
Anyway, they've got this new stuff out called "UA Capture" - which is *supposedly* the latest and greatest in scent containment baselayer technology.
But what the hell is it?
$74.99 Bend over homeboy.
From the Cabela's site: The proven performance of Under Armour ColdGear® now has the added benefit of Capture Scent Technology, which is engineered to trap human odors before they reach the outside of the garment. Unlike carbon-based scent systems, this technology works whether it gets wet or not, and has the capacity to hold more human scent than any other system. Plus, the scent just washes out with soap and water in your washing machine. No special care is needed. The nylon face of the ColdGear fabric is enhanced for more durability, so this base layer can be your only layer if the weather permits.
My question is: Does this stuff have a silver material coating, or is it the same anti-microbial material as was in the armourblock? No heat reactivation means no carbon. I'd guess that means that it's a silver-based product.
Anybody have any idea? I can find no information on their site. I already have the armourblock stuff, and don't want to spend $150 on a new set of the same clothes that I already have - just under the guise of a new logo or ad campaign.

RE: UA Capture
75 bucks for the top....I wasn't all that surprised. We made the world that we live in. Sounds cool if it works. Still don't know if I could hack it. Well, that and the fact that skin hugging anything is not something I get by with at the cabin. The boys like curves just not mine.[8D]

RE: UA Capture
UA makes good products. I bought 3 UA camo shirts many years ago when they were first test marketing them in the stores. I bought them for under $20 a piece and they are still in great shape. I have added a couple more since then as well.

UA makes good stuff....but its just too expensive. IMO
For what you get anyway. I mean there are identical products to it out there, for half the price. I will admit though, after wearing these type clothes as base layers, wearing cotton against your skin almost makes ya not want to head out now. lol
I kinda find it humorous you called out GWW as ridiculously priced, but own every UA product known to man.

I've read that it is a rather simple premise on how their scent containing technology works. You see you spend $75 for the shirt and then another $75+ for the pants and then you have no money to put gas in your tank so you are forced to wear you UA gear around the house. Since your scent is then contained in the house with you it is nowhere near the deer you want to hunt but can't.
Rather genius really.

UA is without a doubt a great product!! I dont buy into the whole scent-lok clothing deal but if I did I would have no problem buying this shirt!!
Whats the price difference between this and Scent-Lok's base Layers??
Basically.... I f I was going to spend a god awful fortune on Scent Lok/Scent-Blocker I dont see the big deal with the price of this shirt!!!

My marriage to the UA became rocky when I wore them so much that they started to get fuzzy and fade. Like any married man whose wifegot old andworn out,I replaced it with a second set - this time with the armourblock. Somehow, the price jumped to $49.99 this time around. I took my butt-raping and bought it.
Now, mysecond setis fuzzy and snagged-up. It's alsofaded some ugly pinkish-orange color. I can't complain though, b/c I wear this stuff about 50x per year, and scent wash after every use. That's 100 washings in 2 seasons.
So here I am, back at square-one, needing new UA base layers, and I'm wondering whether it's worth the extra $50 to buy the "Capture" line, instead of the $100 set of Armourblock.
I'm a huge cheapass, so squeezing this extra $50 out is going to be received about as well as an enema.
