Default Props to a fellow HNI'er who don't get a lot of press

Maybe he likes it that way.....but gri22 is the real deal in my book. He's helped me, TREMENDOUSLY, with my newly acquired lands.

I thought of him last night....as I perused a recent D&DH article RE: a buck's "core". They mentioned a wagon wheel.....and noted that a hunter needs to identify the "spokes" on the wheel (varying "core" areas a buck frequents). Then they mentioned the "hub" of the wheel....and how the successful buck hunter must identify the "common" area within the various "cores" the buck utilizes.

I hope he don't mind......but here's a topo of an area Gri22 sent me a few weeks back. Notice anything that resembles what the article is telling us?

That's my shout out. I'm continuing to take notes, gri22.

Jeff i agree and have met him. A great guy indeed. He even extended an invite through a pm one time to help me scout some Ky ground. The wagon wheel is how i used to explain one of my favorite hunting places thats been mined out now []It was named bloodcreek and was exactly as described above. The place was crawling with Deer in the hub and now its long gone. The topo just reaps wagon wheel. Good post.

Jeff, that is like a saddle in the middle of all of that mess...all leading to that spot...I would say a bigtime spot!

I don't know Gri22 but judging from that pic the man knows his stuff. Look at all those graduation lines funneling everything toward that location.

thats a good ole fashioned "converging hub" something i'd love to learn more about because they frequent my maps...just read what "Mapping Trophy Bucks" said about them. to me, it dont look like much other than a flat.

that drawing from Gri22 kinda helps show the "hub" but i still cant make sense of it or think on how it would funnel deer....my guess is bed on the hillsides and feed on the flat...? i dont know...
