I'm considering driving my old beater Acura which gets 35mpg to save on gas this season. Only problem is, it takes away from the appeal of going hunting in a 4x4. Not only that, if I put something down, I gotta come back and get the truck. I think I'd rather pay the price for appeal and convenience.

You get afor unneccessary and irrelevant roughness, 20 inch penalty, repeat first down. Now you're in your own end zone. Don't mess with the Deacons of Death son.
side note* you're not kidding in your sig huh?

The beauty of living in a diverse/small country is that i can hunt all game in Scotland in my entire state which I can walk to. At a fetch i would say 10 miles max to all my hunting land which is the whole of Renfrewshire.
So not that much on the gas I would say.

Zero, I hunt my own place which is a crossing point between major points of cover, bedding, and feeding areas. It's good to live in a funnel. On the few occasions when I the need for a change of scenery and reduced chance of scoring I go no further than a 45 minute drive to a friend's place two counties over, or a stretch of national forest nearby.

RE: What's your hunting gasoline bill?
Both clubs and the private land of my grandfather's are under 15 miles from my house, so i don't burn too much gas going back and forth. What really runs my bill up is general gun season when we run hounds I spend a small fortune on gas then, but it is all worth it.
