Settle a bet

RE: Settle a bet
This deer is from one of my sothern Illinois farms, which has some unreal tanks running around on it. Neither me or my buddy will shoot this deer, so as long as he sticks around our farm his is safe. I guess the only way we will know his true age is if we are lucky enough to kill him ina few years. I still think he is a great 1 1/2 and I am looking forward to watching his growth over the next few years.

kb, I have to disagree with you as well on the age. I guesstimate him at 2.5 years old with the majority.
He is much too developed in the chest this time of year to be in his first year. Forget the antlers, forget the neck, look at his chest and and stomach. If he is truly a 1.5 year old, he's born early and feed very, very well over the summer. I think if you see him come late fall you may change your thoughts on his age.
I agree with giving him a few seasons, either age today, he's going to grow a real set and be a hoss of a deer.

Definitelya 2.5... but your friend who says he would go 120" needs either A) a lesson in how to score a deer, or B) to stop smoking so much purple.
He's about 90-95".
*Edit-- Also, remember this is late summer so the deer will look quite a bit skinnier than he does in a full coat. Maybe this is why you think he is a 1.5 yr old. Either way, look at his stomach and chest and how developed they are--For this time in the summer a 1.5 will look like a doe with horns. Skinny and lanky.

The major disagreement was over the age. I knew his score was way off. Seeing as most everyone on here says 2.5, I guess I owe him a case busch light. I just hope he lets me drink it with him.
