I got into them something bad about a month ago setting up stands. I ended up with something like 300+ chigger bites and was miserable for the better part of a week. Like mentioned before the only thing you can do is to use something to stop the itch, once they get attached your in for a treat for at least a couple of weeks. Any good quality tick repelant seems to do a good job of keeping the little bastards off you. Just keep in mind if you see them on you and they are attached it kills them if you dislodge them from you. I did feel a bit of sweet revendge knowing I had dislodged upwards of 50 to 75 that I actualy saw, and they all died. Thats the only thing that put a smile on my face when I was miserable and itching.
