Just to clear things up, I am talking about deer on land. And trespassing wouldn't be an issue where I hunt due to it all being federal property, the water and land. I would love to slip by the banks an hour before dark, sitting in the bushes and arrow a deer...that is right up my alley!

Rob, I have two spots like this set-up this year and plan on slipping in behind them early in the morning. Using my kayak will save me over a 1/2 mile of walking on crunchy leaves and making noise---sillent approach.

Bow fishing you're shooting down into the water. Your bow fishing bow might travel at 200 fps, but if you accidentally let off it's going no where but in the water. If you're pointed towards land you can hurt someone (on or off the boat), or land a very poor shot on an animal (with a normal bow or rifle). In bow fishing the arrow is tied off and has limited range.Even if youlet off early in bow fishing the arrow can't reach the same distance.

Bow fishing is MUCH safer than hunting for biggame in a boat, IMO.
