Is this the same 9 point in these two photos??
Please choose from one of the above options.
Please note the following:
- In the 8/24 pic, the deer's head is up & facing the camera more. This minimizes the perception of the length of the right G2 in contrast to the right G3.
- In the 8/17 pic, the deer's head is tilted down more and facing the camera less. This causes the G2's on both sides to appear to "grow" in so much as they look bigger (or at least, as big) than the G3's in that picture and bigger than the G2's in the 8/24 picture.
- On the 8/24 deer, you may be saying to yourself "That's only an 8 point". I'll ask you to look closely at the outer edge of what looks like the turn at the base of the left G2. See that extra little bulge? That's the turn of the REAL left G2 (mostly hidden by the REAL left G3)- what the picture shows mostly is the REAL left G3. We can't see the left G2 clearly due to the deer's head position relative to the camera.
Please- post your reason(s) for voting the way you did.
Thanks,
Rob

RE: Is this the same 9 point in these two photos??
Im not sure, but if i had to guess i would say no. It seems like the 8/24 buck has a much greater length on his main beam from the G-3 to the tip than the 8/17 buck. They are very close though, i would have to see more pics to be 100% sure.

I do not believe they are the same deer. The throat patch seems to be very differentas GMMAT pointed out. However, the racks are very similar, so if it is not the same deer they are out of the same line.

I would say yes it is the same deer, I think the white under his chin is deceptive b/c of the difference in distance to the camera and the fact that he is looking up instead of looking down, look at his where the black on his nose meets to thefur on his head and also look at the whitepatchesaround his nose.I also believe that the G2 on his left side is just hidden behind the G3 and G4.I believe it to be the same deer and if the picture quality was the same in both pic's a lot of guys would change their opinion...

yes....the throat patches are the same....the right pic is just shaded. the end of the beam on the left (right looking at the pic) goes from narrow to fat right at the crab claw. Beautiful deer none the less
