The reason for them not telling anyone if they did or didnt, is that if they did and someone's kid got ate by a cougar with a radio collar the DNR would catch more hell then they would know what to do with.
No...actuallyit is just the opposite...that isexactly why it is absurd to think any DNR isreleasing cougars"undercover", because there is no way whatsoever that a state departmentcan acquire and release animals like that without any sort of paper trailor other proof to be dug up. We are talking wildlife here, not national security and defense.

I talked to two differant game wardens up there and apperantly it was I twisted rumor-some guy up there had a couple cougers in a cage and of course they had pups, and so on,he released some of them when they got to be too many,so I stand corrected.
However this doesn`t change the fact that they are all over now.

Also in Mn. you won`t catch too much flack for putting one down as in cali and some other states,in fact they had to put down a 90 pound couger just outside of minneapolis as it was crouching by a walking path and would comply with the officers request to go away.

Don't worry bud, I think a lot of guys have fallen for it. It's kind of like these emails that get sent around and everyone believes them until they go on snopes.

Kinda like this Oklahoma rumor dispelled on Snopes...you never know what you'll find on there...
