The reason for them not telling anyone if they did or didnt, is that if they did and someone's kid got ate by a cougar with a radio collar the DNR would catch more hell then they would know what to do with. Do I think theyre releasing them? IDK, but there seems to be way too much talk about it for SOMETHING to have not been done... JMHO

They are all over Southern California, but as most know, due to the anti's in California we can't kill them, even if it is self defense, you had better be able to prove it...
SSS = Shoot Shovel Ssssshhhhhh
I hunt in Arizona alot, so coming into contact there will equals a dead one (legal to kill there)....but here in California, if it was a matter of self defense he would be dead also. The fine for killing them here (California) is close to $5000, and revocation of your hunting license for 1-3 years, I just try to bypass any contact with them.

There are eye witnessconfirmed reports of a Mountain lion roaming the Norwalk Wi area. DNR is aware of it.

to be honest never saw one here in Wisconsin and don't think i ever will but i don't really think it will affect it to much as yotes and wolfs would...just another predator IMO

So if a rumor is retold enough it must be true?
That's funny!
These stories of game dept releases nevr get backed up by any proof.
If it was done "with the public knowledge", there is a huge paper trail - where is it?

Fortunately, bears and mountain lions are not protected in Iowa and can be taken legally. If I see one, I will not hesitate to terminate it.

I'm sorry, but it's an urban legend until I see proof. Go back and click the link on my previous post, because I had heard the same thing in Oklahoma too. It turned out to be just an urban legend.

I don't think the guy was intentionally lying, he was just a victim of an old urban legend that has been spread around since the dawn of time.

Take this for what it's worth...but this is an email response to my question of if any mtn lions were released in MN:

The DNR has never released mountain lions or cougars in the state.

Thank you.

I can walk to my stand in piece, rather than pieces.
Now that is funny right there! Kyle, do you know any decent no-quota areas for bear that would be worth coming up for in late Sept?
