Default RE: Mast crops

This is "gospel" in my book.

I dont hunt the ag feilds at all in early season. The acorns are food of choice.

I've watched deer walk past a bait pile for acorns.

The best I've ever seen was hunting a White oak patch two years ago, had a nice looking 2.5 yr 8 point eating nuts for 30 min under me. He started to head off, and I took a piece of limb and dropped it from the stand. When it hit the leaves he stopped dead, and did a 180. Came back to the tree to find that "nut". I had a good chuckle over it. Thankfully he didnt bust my scent.
