Default Skinning Deer

Anybody have any recommendations on what to use to hang a deer for skinning? I have about 3 acres and part of it is wooded. I want to be able to shoot deer on my property and skin it there as well. I looked around on the internet and didn't see much more than simply a hanger. I need to to be able to not only hang it, but hoist it up and down.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Good luck this season. Won't be too much longer!

I hang mine in my garage. You only need to pulleys to get 2x mechanical advantage. I can easily hoist the deer up myself.

You can buy a block and tackle made for hanging deer for about $20. Either put up a buck pole between two trees or hang it from a conveniant tree branch. I hang mine by the neck and skin from the head down. But you can run abar through the hocks and tie it off in the middle if you prefer to skin from the other direction. I have also laid them on a tarp and skinned them on the ground.

Well, there's always the ever faithful tying it to the quad or the truck and hoisting it overa limb. We actually have a skinning pole with an old boat winch for our muscle. That works the best for us, though I have used some of the products that jim1966 linked up for you.

I just picked out 2 trees about 5 feet apart, screwed in 2 eyebolts about 7 feet high, hook in a couple of rachet pulleys, tie to the deer and pull it up...
