Default Backpack hunting

Any thoughts on the equipment needed for a hunt in off the roads? I have never done an overnight hunt but there is a good discussion here that seems to make sense.

i myself am planing a 3 day hike in the backwoods. i am just going to take 4 cans of beans, water, jerky, granola bars, tent, and sleeping bag just taking the bare minumium , my plans are to pack out a elk. this will be my first back pack hunt. ill see what happens
