Last years buck wasn't a trophy to me. It might be other peoples views. I was hit by a car before it got to me. That is why I shot it.I do hold out for a deer that is a trophy to me.

I don't like the term trophy so I will use ....ummmm......quality kill..I cherrish all my kills with the bow far more than a gun, but the bucks I kill with a bow are more special to me than the does, but I enjoy the rush and the meat the same.

Actions speak louder than words.
How many guys have you seen drving around with their doe in back of their truck showing her off?
How many doe poles have you been too?

Yes. I do not shoot a deer I do not want to take, so if I harvest the deer I have my sights on, I have accomplished a goal and am proud of that animal.

For me, no, every deer is not a trophy.A "TROPHY" to me is only a buck. Does are great, I like to shoot those too, meat for me and friends, but to me a trophy is going on the wall. There has been a ton of talk about this lately on here. Not every animal I kill is a "trophy" regardless of weapon. Trophy are for something extra special, like a giant buck. You don't get a trophy for every tackle in football, or every goal in soccer. Just trophies for special ones, record breaking ones in some cases. that is how I look at hunting trophies, special ones or personal bests, those are trophies.
