How Do you Keep your stuff from walking away?
With the season approaching faster and faster every day, Its getting close to the time when the treestands will be getting attached to trees and the Trail Cams (prolly already are out) will be getting placed aswell.
So now the question becomes, how do you keep your Treestands/ Trail cams from getting stolen? Obviously lock them up, but does anyone do anything or know of any locks that are worth their weight in gold as far as keeping stuff from growing legs and leaving in another mans truck??
I saw a lock at Wal-mart last night and theres no spot on it to get bolt cutters on so I think I will get one of those for my cuddeback. Should keep it from getting stolen (hopefully)
Anyone got any off beat tactics for keeping your expencive equipment safe?
Ryan.
EDIT: this is the lock I was refering to. 11.99 at wal-mart.

RE: How Do you Keep your stuff from walking away?
everyone tells me to get a cable
Then find a lock that you can not get to with bolt cutters and or a drill to dril the key slot out.
i have had a few time where i need to cut a lock or drill it out.
it is much easyer to drill a lock out then it is to cut a chain.
i saw a lock on cabelas i think i will try it is a tree stand cable with a lock that seems hard toget to with either tool.

On one of the properties we hunt, we use cable locks like the one pictured below. The cable is 18mm. Yes, the cable in many cases is worth as much as the stand, however, knowing that the stand will be there in the morning is worth it to us. I believe it would be easier to cut through the stand then this cable.

Attack a car battery up to a chain then lock it, I bet that will teach them a lesson.
