In the long term, what happens when one of these deer who were born, bred and lived all their life in captivity gets loose? Would they have the natural instinct to stay alive if they lived through the hunting season?
His first season....if he made it through....he would likely react like any other FAWN. He'd follow the others around....get his ass kicked a few times.....and finally find his place in the pecking order. I don't think it would take him too long to figure out to do what the others are doing (led, by example).

I'm wondering what the deer that the deer farmers raise and then release do after a short time in the "wild". How long would the tendency to trust humans take to dissipate? I'm thinking if the other 10 deer he's running with run at the sight of a human.....that he ain't just gonna stand there.

They spread CWD and all the other diseases captive deer get to the native herd.[:'(][:@][&:]
