What do you guys do with the rib cages from the deer you kill? Do you keep them and bone them out or do you just keep the shoulders, hind quarters, and backstraps?

we dont mess with them. We keep the shoulders, hind quarters, inner tenderloins, and the two big backstraps....yummy. On my next few we plan to bone out the ribs and other areas to make jerky meat from the scraps.

We take the meat from between the ribs and add it into the ground. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth the time, but there are no guarantees I'll be able to hunt next year, so we harvest all the meat we can ('cept that exotic stuff like tongue, etc).

I usually cut them up like pork ribs and give them to my wifes granddad and his buddy. I think they throw them in a crockpot for awhile. Then eat them with bbq sauce on them.
