Well here are 2 new ones Hoyt released and has in shops already. The Power Hawk and the Super Hawk. I might add they have a decent price tag too. I got to shoot these last week at the shop I work at. I have to say they are everything you would expect from a Hoyt bow. Smooth draw, Solid construction and very quiet and shock free. My only real complaint was the weight factor. I weighed a Power Hawk loaded with the package Hoyt will offer with it and it tipped the scales at 6lbs. That was with bow mounted quiver, rest, stablizer and sight. And this is from a bow that is in the 33-32 ATA range. Just a comparison My Bowtech old Glory at 37" ATA loaded with sight, rest, sts, and stabilizer and it only tips the scales at 6lbs itself. Well just thought id give everyone a heads up out there on these bows, and might I add they are a bargain at $499 and $599 respectively. On a side note from what the Hoyt rep told us at the shop Hoyt will be fazing out the Reflex line of bows and these Hawk line of bows will be taking their place being labeled as Hoyts. In fact the Power Hawk and the Super Hawk both are using the Reflex Growler forged riser from this year. Reason I was told is the Reflex line has not done what Hoyt thought it would sales wise.

i got to shoot these bows the other day at the local hoyt shop and i loved them they were very smooth and you cant go wrong with a hoyt...for the price of these bows all i can really say is wow everything you would expect from a hoyt

Too bad about the reflex line, because they are an awesome bow. Looks like I will be buying a hoyt in the future.

I couldn't agree more. Great shooting bows and very solid especially for a forged riser bow. Like I stated my only problem with them was the overall mass weight but that was really only on the Power Hawk, The Super Hawk seemed a bit lighter. But once again I think these would make fabulous bows for the budget minded hunter.

The Hoyts need a diet. Last time I lifted a new one was with my brother, he hadn't seen them yet. I said to him "heft this one". He was shocked and by the by is a UPS driver (used to lifting things all day). We both shoot Protecs that are bigger and lighter.

I just have no desire to drag something like that along. I also don't think they'd be a good bow for a new hunter because of the weight. They're going to be wore out enough already. Kind of like heavy boots.

You guys are funny! It's 6 pounds, come one. How hard is it to carry a six pound bow plus accessories?

In all actuality try lugging that 6lb bow all day for 5 days on an Elk hunt or something like that. That 6lbs would feel like 60lbs. Especially when there are equivelent bows out there that would be a full pound lighter after being fully decked out.

Not sure on that but as I understand it the Reflex line will be discontinued. Maybe they will make the caribou under the Hoyt label

It's no worse than lugging a rifle of similar weight.I agree that some of the Hoyts are heavy compared to a lot of other bows. I have an '07 VectrixXL, and it's a bit heavy, but I like it for the stability it provides because of this. I only carry it to my stand where it getsset in my bow holder, so the weight isn't an issue for me.
