Seems to me that early season/unpressured and sometimes ruttingbucks do not always circle downwind.

Every MATURE buck I have seen 3 1/2 and older always circled downwind from my stand. The yearlings walk where ever.

I never had any luck rattling crap in NC

As far as grunting if the deer appears and starts to head away, then I will grunt, I also have employed blind calling with a little positive results

So yeah I'm taking a chance
Same here. Ill chance anything, its what i live for.......just a chance

I'm saying "why take chances?".

What do you have to loose if you do not?

Oh believe me.....NOTHING,

But we've got some hard-asses that profess to taking NO CHANCES.....yet they admit to grunting/rattling.....and NOT being as clean as they can be (all the while.....they HAVE to know that a smart whitetail will try to get downwind of them). It just doesn't make sense.

My question was somewhat loaded. See you and I agree.

Lmao!!!!! Look who's talking!! Jeff nothing makes sense to you unless its one of your buddy's on here posting or someone else who wears scent blocker clothing/scent! Quit knocking what others do by hunting the wind with out the scent blocker stuff, hunting the wind was working well before the scent blocker stuff came out and still works today. Who says bucks come in down wind all the time anyway?? Most of mine do not when they come in to me rattling. They come in to fight the buck, not wind the buck.
