Does anyone keep records of the weather conditions?
I'm curious if any of you keep records of the weather conditions during your hunts. If so, what conditions are best for your area? When do you see the most deer?
I live in VA and the best conditions (according to my data) as far as seeing deer are...
Air temp - 41-45F
Wind direction - out of the north east
Moon phase - First quarter
Deer activity - walking
Time - 7-8AM (another spike in grapharound 10AM)
Seasonal phase - pre-rut
Sky condition - clear

Someone just posted a thread (daily journal) about this just a few days ago. I started doing this last year, so I'll need this season's details for a comparison. It should be intresting. Here's apic of the form I fill out for each hunt. I add the wind direction (real important)since it's not alreadyon the form.

I've saved pages from weather sites on days whenI see high deer movement. Figuring it out is another story.
I'm no expert but I have pegged the day and place were I was successful. It happens quickly. Last year, one evening I knew the next morning would be it. It was and I even picked the stand it would happen at. I hadn't sat there all season. All happened in about 12 hours.
I saw the buck at first light200 yards out. I was facing north and he was heading east as soon as he was directly in front of me I grunted. Have no idea if he heard it being so far out, but he made a right turn and walked right at me. It was a site. I'd never killed a deer in the a.m. there. This was over at 7:30 a.m. Details!
I'm wrong more than right.

I don't do this but plan on getting me a few trail cam that will put the date time and temp on it I can add the rest later. It would be great tool IF there is any pattern you can see. During the fall there is just so much going on in the deers life like food source changes, pre-rut, rut and post-rut. I thinkit would take you at least a3-4 years of data to have enough info to compare to see if it is the same from year to year.
