He sure looks like an old deer. Look at that nose profile and the belly like a barrel. I bet he will be 5.5 or older this fall. Any pics of him from previous years?

He still has a couple of months of bone growing to do to.
Are they still in velvet in Sept out west? Anyway, great looking buck you've got there. Good luck if you decide to kill him. Knowing you though, I'm fairly certain you've got a bigger buck in your sights for this season.
I don't know about out westbut here you can still kill one in velvet in Sept. early muzzel loader season.
Kansas is quite west of Pa.
